Artist + Educator
Laura Medeiros is an artist and educator who creates experiences and chronicles histories to share viewpoints, encourage compassion, and build relationships in her classroom and her artistic practice. Medeiros is currently a Visual Arts Teacher within Boston Public Schools.
Artist
Laura’s body of artistic work is compiled of works utilizing paper, sculpture, and found object. She sees potential in stories - real and imagined, intimate and grand.
Educator
Laura has developed a compassionate, humorist, and informed style of teaching that encourages students to take ownership of their actions and creative work. She devotes time to understanding the needs and capacities of learners as part of her lesson and curriculum design. She finds it imperative to create learning environments that are inclusive, focused, and exciting.
